Everything is the L-rd's

I was trying to find a radio station to listen to this morning and stopped the station on a song that had these lyrics:
If it makes you happy it can't be bad but if it makes you happy why are you so sad?
My first train of thought was that this is a lie the world falls for; that if something makes you happy then it can't be bad.  Boy is that mode of thinking a major stumbling block.

But as I was listening to the artist belt out the song I began thinking about how we are all so smug about our talents, gifts, and accomplishments.  It's all a big fat lie because everything we have or do is the L-rd's.  First of all, music is beautiful and I love music so much; however, if we didn't have ears we could not hear it and G-d created the energy and components to make music and He created us so none of it comes about because of anything we did outside of G-d's help.  Wikipedia offers this definition for sound:  Sound is a sequence of waves of pressure which propagates through compressible media such as air or water. (Sound can propagate through solids as well, but there are additional modes of propagation). During their propagation, waves can be reflected, refracted, or attenuated by the medium .  The very thing we feel puffed up about was orchestrated and made possible because of Him.  We only utilize what He created and the skill or ability we employ to utilize His creation was also given to us as was our very lifebreath!

This of course led me to think about Psalm 24.  It is good to have the word hidden in your heart so that you will be ready to hear G-d speak to you.  Sometimes my daily Psalm reading doesn't necessarily speak to me at the moment I am reading it but frequently a portion will come back to my memory later and the L-rd will speak something to me that illuminates some truth.

The Psalm is so beautiful I'm including it here to end my devotion.  I pray it speaks to you.

The earth is the L-rd's, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
For He hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.
Who shall ascend into the hill of the L-rd?  or who shall stand in His Holy place?
He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
He shall receive the blessing from the L-rd, and righteousness from the G-d of his salavation.
This is the genration of them that seek Him, that seek Thy face, O Jacob.  Selah
Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of Glory shall come in.
Who is this King of Glory?  The L-rd strong and mighty, the L-rd mighty in battle.
Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
Who is this King of Glory?  The L-rd of hosts, He is the King of Glory.  Selah
